Down here in the Southern Hemisphere, winter is on it's way. And for our Northern Hemisphere friends, sunny days are dawning. But whether you're daydreaming about summer past or planing the one to come, these inspiring beach houses and holiday homes are swoon-worthy!
First up, an amazing home (and holiday rental!) located on the island of St Barts...
Villa Palmier is positioned close to the beach, but still has its own pool.
The entire front of the house is open to the outdoors and to the ocean view.
One of our designer hammocks would be amazing here. Oh, okay, and a couple of designer beanbag chairs, too.
We love the light, bright aesthetic. That modular in luxe white linen is gorgeous, as are the exposed beams. Natural accents and textures, including woven seagrass and rattan, a driftwood-style side table and wooden flooring ensure a relaxed - but sophisticated - island vibe.
Flowing, sheer curtains give the perfect ambience for relaxing.
The palm frond, ocean art and roughly-cut wooden serving boards are perfect little touches in this smart kitchen.
Gorgeous outdoor furniture for long lazy breakfasts, and we love that pendant light too. See more of this home at one of our favourite blogs, SF Girl By Bay

Next up, a stunning home on a wild South African coastline...
How amazing is that pool with the tide effect? We'd love to see some of our modern sun loungers here.
This master bedroom blends luxury touches (like the chandelier, ink velvet throw and beautiful bath) beautifully with more laid-back elements, such as the seagrass mat and rough timber bed frame.
Can you imagine sitting in front of that huge open fire on a summer's evening? Yes, we are officially jealous of the owners of this home.
Thanks to massive windows on every side, even when you're around the back of the house, you can still enjoy the view.

If we lived in this home in Sydney's Northern Beaches home, we'd never get any work done...
We love these ultra-modern outdoor chairs (and the view ain't bad either, right?).
Love all the bright colour pops in this contemporary living room - it's vibrant without being loud or overdone.
A massive skylight brings all that lovely Sydney sunshine in.
The master bedroom is a casual but contemporary sanctuary, opening out onto a backyard oasis.

And finally, we'd give anything to set sail on this modern, luxury house boat for a few weeks.
The room might be snug, but what a big view to wake up to...
We love the fresh, modern palette of colours and materials.
Give us a pile of magazines and a glass of rose (and maybe swap out that chair for a comfy hammock or sun-lounger), and we'll be fine, right here, for days.
